Meet Professor, Prayer Or Hope?
“Sir, he is Rifqi, my lovely student on campus. He’s smart and very polite. Rifqi I hope you can become a professor in the future.” – Mam Nina
“Yaa his face looks smart.” – Prof. Dr. Siti Mardiana, M.Si
“Congratulations, son” – Rector Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng., M.Sc
That’s the sentence I keep remembering on that day. Mam Nina succeeded made me happy and proud with that conversation between the rectors. Word by word kept going through my mind.
For the first time I participated in celebrating National Education Day at LLDIKTI Region 1. While waiting for the ceremony start I took a video and watched some people walked in front of me. Immediately, I saw Mam Nina in front of me, yeaa, she is my lecturer on campus. It didn’t take long time, now we met again with a different agenda.
Not only Mam Nina, but also the vice rector and rector of my campus. Mam Nina called me to ask for help taking a photo, I rushed to take this opportunity by asking for a photo with the rector and the others.
After that, we talked and I realized, positive energy emerged very quickly. I smiled proudly, as did when I saw the smiles and laughter of my rector which made me even more enthusiastic that morning. I don’t know if it’s Mam Nina’s hope or my dream. Because until now I had never thought about becoming a professor, but that was definitely one of their good wishes.
Thank you, Rifqi, keep learning and be humble, son, said Mam Nina at the end of our conversation. I walked towards my friends while giving a faint smile with a different feeling of happiness that I had never experienced before.
